NHK Taiga Drama Special Exhibition “What Will You Do, Ieyasu?” is currently being held
What Will You Do about Ieyasu’s special exhibition?
The story of the NHK Taiga drama “What Will You Do, Ieyasu?” is finally reaching its climax, and a special exhibition is being held at the Shizuoka City Museum of Art!
The special exhibition will feature armor and swords that Ieyasu himself used. You can see items related to Ieyasu collected from all over the country, including the Kunozan Toshogu Museum where Tokugawa Ieyasu is enshrined.
Tokugawa Ieyasu spent 25 years, about one-third of his life, in Sunpu, from his childhood when he called himself Takechiyo until his death at Sunpu Castle. This exhibition introduces, through a wealth of materials, a number of battles and events that were important turning points in Ieyasu’s life, with the keyword “What will you do?”
This is a rare opportunity to bring together valuable materials, including 6 national treasures and approximately 45 important cultural properties, including armor and swords that Ieyasu himself used, as well as many cultural properties designated by prefectures and cities.
How about enjoying an Ieyasu tour that includes Sunpu Castle Park, Taiga Drama Museum, and more?
