Shizuoka City Serizawa Keisuke Museum of Art
This museum exhibits the works and collections of Keisuke Serizawa (1895-1984), a dyer from Shizuoka City. Mr. Serizawa was recognized as a Living National Treasure for establishing a method called "Katagezome", which is a creative addition to traditional stencil dyeing without being bound by conventional dyeing. In order to pass on his achievements to future generations, various special exhibitions are held, and on Sundays and holidays when the museum is open, you can tour the "Serizawa Keisuke House", which was relocated after Serizawa's death. One of the highlights is the many buildings made with natural materials such as stone, wood, and water.
